    About the Hackathon

On October 28th in Porto, the PWIT AI Hackathon provided a supportive and inclusive environment for women to learn, collaborate, and innovate in AI.

As AI had already revolutionized industries and societies, this was your chance to have been part of the driving force, pushing boundaries, and making a real impact. Whether you were an experienced AI developer or were just stepping into the world of coding, this hackathon welcomed all skill levels.

Guided by mentors with a wealth of experience, participants had the opportunity to learn, grow, and refine their abilities. Beyond the competition, this event celebrated community and learning.

    THE CHALLENGE

Challenges focused on fostering Diversity and Inclusion inside and outside organizations.

    • Gender Equality in the Workplace: Develop an AI solution that analyzes workplace data to identify and address gender bias, providing actionable insights to promote equal opportunities, fair pay, and a more inclusive work environment.
    • Education Empowerment: Build an AI-driven educational tool that helps girls and young women explore and excel in STEM subjects, using interactive learning methods and adaptive content to foster a love for technology.
    • Personalized Career Development: Create an AI career coach that offers tailored advice, learning resources, and skill-building recommendations to help women in tech navigate their career paths and achieve their professional goals.
    • Inclusive Language and Communication: Develop an AI tool that promotes gender-neutral and inclusive language in written and spoken communication, helping to eliminate biases and stereotypes.

These challenges not only tap into the immense potential of AI but also address important issues facing women in the tech industry and society at large. They encourage creative problem-solving while fostering a sense of purpose and impact.

These are some ideas that we think could be beneficial for every company/organization. Feel free to explore them or other societal challenges.
